Is it possible to become a successful programmer without studying CS? [closed]

I am a student at University College London, I'm not studying computer science but I have a massive interest in computer science. I am studying Natural Sciences which means that I study Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

I'm not necessarily asking this question for my specific case but what are you opinions?

Is it a viable career choice to become a programmer without a computer science degree?
